Adorable Reindeer Hoop Art

Posted by The Hair Bow Co. with Pitter and Glink on Nov 7th 2013

Hey, y'all! Bethany here from Pitter and Glink to share a fun, festive piece of Christmas hoop art utilizing a couple of awesome Hair Bow Company products. I call it my Reindeer Silhouette Hoop Art.

It's very easy to make your own!

You will need a few supplies:

  • Embroidery Hoop
  • White fabric
  • Green fabric
  • Iron-on Transfer Paper
  • Flower from the Hair Bow Company
  • Chevron Ribbon from the Hair Bow Company
  • Rhinestones
  • Hot glue sticks & glue gun
  • Reindeer Silhouette

First, trace your reindeer silhouette (I found mine through a Google search) on the back of the transfer paper.

Cut around the silhouette. (Don't cut on the lines yet. You'll do that later.)

Iron the transfer paper onto your green fabric according to the manufacturer's directions.

Cut out your silhouette.

Cut a circle of white fabric large enough to fit inside your embroidery hoop without slipping out and iron your silhouette onto the white fabric following the manufacturer's directions.

Place the fabric over the bottom piece of the embroidery hoop. Place the top piece over that and stretch the fabric while tightening the screw at the top of the hoop. Trim the excess fabric from around the hoop. (I always leave enough to hot glue around the back edge of the hoop to ensure the fabric never slips out.)

Use hot glue to secure your pretty ribbon to the outside edge of your hoop. Use the glue to secure your flower to the hoop, along with your rhinestones placed to look like a necklace. Then your festive hoop is complete!

I love the traditional colors of the hoop.

And the addition of the rhinestone necklace, chevron ribbon, and red flower modernize what could be an otherwise serious piece of hoop art. Wouldn't it be cute to make a little grouping of embroidery hoop art on a wall for the Christmas season? What about a tree silhouette covered with rhinestone buttons as ornaments? The possibilities are endless! If you like this project, I hope you'll stop by Pitter and Glink sometime to check out my other Christmas projects. Happy crafting!
