Shabby Flower Handmade Valentine

Do you have a certain someone in your life that deserves something thoughtful for Valentine's Day? If you're anything like my husband and me, gifts are out of the question. Christmas JUST ended and, come on, this is the looooove holiday. Don't buy me a new thing. I've got whozits and whatzits galore! Just tell me how much you love me!

This sweet handmade card will be absolutely perfect to give my man. Taking a little time to hand make something says "You're worth it." And, hey, it's cute too!

Suggested supplies:
- Shabby flowers
-Premade card and envelope set
-Acrylic ink/watercolor paint
-Brushes

This can easily be adapted for kids. Let them use crayons or markers if that's easier for them.

Lay your flowers on the front of the card. Move them around until they look how you want them to look. Then gently outline the flowers with a pencil. Move the flowers out of the way for a bit. This is probably the easiest time to write your message on the inside of the card.

Paint the stems and wording.

Use a touch of glue and attach the flowers to the card. Let it sit for an hour or so before you try to stuff it in the envelope.

I love the idea of a handmade card because it shows your Valentine that you're really thinking about them... you didn't just make a quick stop at Walgreen's on the way home from work. Not that you'd EVER do that...
