Hey, y’all! Bethany here from Pitter & Glink to share a fun Fourth of July project that’s perfect for your family barbecue.

Have you seen the awesome Flower Craft Packs that the Hair Bow Company is carrying now? Each Flower Craft Pack comes with a great assortment of flowers and other little goodies.

The Hair Bow Company sent me the Fourth of July Flower Craft Pack, and I couldn’t wait to get crafting. I decided that barbecues are synonymous with the Fourth of July, so a fun, festive place card utilizing the craft flowers would be the perfect project.

To make your own place cards, you’ll need the following supplies:

Flowers from The Hair Bow CompanySmall Wooden PlaquePaintPaint BrushWashi TapePermanent Marker or Paint PenHot Glue GunGlue SticksClear Sealant220 Grit Sandpaper

Step One: Paint your wooden plaque.

Step Two: Distress the edges of your painted plaque using 220 grit sandpaper. After you finish, wipe the dust from the plaque.

Step Three: Using a permanent marker or paint pen, write your guest’s name on the plaque. You could use stamps, sticker, or stencils for this step. I just free handed the name using a hand-lettered alphabet pin from Pinterest as a guide.

Step Four: Spray the plaque with a clear sealant and let it dry.

Step Five: Use washi tape to embellish the plaque.

Step Six: Use hot glue to attach a craft flower to the plaque, and your handmade place card is complete.

Isn’t the place card so pretty? Pair the place cards with plain dishes and inexpensive bandanas for a festive place setting. (The bandanas can double as napkins!) The best part about these place cards is that your guests can take them home and use them as personalized décor long after your party is over.

Also, you can buy larger wooden plaques from the craft store, so you could use this same idea on a larger plaque and write something besides a name on the plaque. Something like “Let Freedom Ring!” or “Land of the Free” would be awesome!
